GP Area Manager

In this unique position, you will leverage your strong medical practice management experience to oversee the operations of up to 5 General practices in the eastern side of Melbourne.

Supported by a strong management team, this role will further support your growth in your career. The team has divisions that provide bookkeeping, payroll, marketing, and admin support, allowing you to focus on doing things that you love such as building a team and improving the group's operations. 

Based mainly on the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, you will be required to travel to and work from SIA Medical practices spanning from Montrose to Mulgrave.

As the area manager, you will be working closely with the CFO, Managing Director. and Nurse Area Manager to lead the organization.

Your duties will include and not be limited to:

• Create and implement the Practice Business Plans in conjunction with the Senior Leadership team and Practice Managers.
• Assist in supporting the Practice Managers (PMs) in delivering/implementing their individual business plans (operational) for their Practices by coaching and developing PMs through regular catch-ups and quarterly in-house learning events.
• Oversee all operational facets of the individual Medical Practice business in the areas of Financial, IT, Marketing, HR, Recruitment, Legal/Compliance, and Business Management - Operations/ Administration.
• Represent SIA Medical Group at industry events and in the local community to promote our branding, values, and ethics.
• Take the operational lead on certain acquisition projects.

About You 

• You are an experienced Area Manager or an experienced Practice Manager in General Practice looking for the next step in your career.
• You love general practice and are always looking to improve efficiencies, learn more, and connect with your team.
• You have great leadership skills and are able to coach and lead managers effectively.

Skills and Experience

• At least four years experience as a practice manager in general practice (essential).
• Strong understanding of medical practice operational procedures and processes.
• Knowledge of government regulations, industry regulations, codes of ethics, and best practices (e.g. RACGP, AMA, AAPM, WHS, other) as it relates to the Medical Practice industry.
• Strong financial and analytical skills.
• Ability to take initiative, work autonomously and productively as part of a team.
• Good understanding of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Medical Practice software tools (e.g. Pracsoft, HotDoc, Cubiko, etc.) and a willingness to learn more as needed.
• Multi-site health care management and leadership experience (preferable).
